  • Installing new seals on the DOC AI Camera

    A new seal improves the water tightness of the DOC AI Cam. This will be sent out to all existing customers. This post and video explains how to replace the seal.
  • Updated Sidekick - with set up Wizard

    The new version of Sidekick now has a Wizard to guide you through the initial set up of your thermal camera/bird monitor. This includes a new help section, an easier way of setting up your APN and various bug fixes.

    We've released some software updates for the DOC AI Cam

    • Low power mode is now working reliably
    • A short press of the button will now turn the light off 
    • We are now logging battery voltage, humidity and temperature
    • We have reactivated alerts when the camera is off for more than 24 hours.
    • Fixed bug with custom recording windows and other bug fixes
  • Bug with custom recording windows

    There is a bug with setting a custom recording window. For now we recommend using the default or 24 hour mode until a fix for this bug is released.
  • Activity summaries and more animal tags

    You can now elect to receive a daily or weekly activity summary, show which animals have been detected by the DOC AI Cam. There is also the option now to tag many Australian animals.
  • Set up alerts for your group/project

    You can now set up email alerts at the group/project level. Previously you could only do this for specific locations which was a little painful if you were moving your camera around and wanted an alert.
  • New version of Sidekick: simplified interface.

    A new version of the Sidekick App is available. This is used to configure the thermal camera. The new software simplifies the configuration.
  • Distinguishing between rats and mice

    The Cacophony Project team have come up with a cunning algorithm to automatically distinguish between rats and mice.
  • View your tagging stats

    You can now see tagging stats - what has been tagged, who did it and where.
  • Updated Android Sidekick App

    The new version of Sidekick for Android prompts you to update the location of the camera if it has changed and provides quick links to recently uploaded videos.
  • A new way of connecting to our cameras

    We have introduced a new way to connect to your thermal camera. The camera now sets up a Wi-Fi hotspot called bushnet that you connect to. You can then use your Sidekick app in the same way.
  • Test recordings and cows

    You can now make a test recording when you're setting up the camera. The camera will also make short recordings at the start and end of the recording window. We have also added a cow tag.
