The newly released software for the DOC AI Cam includes integration with the low bandwidth network Celium, support for a broader range of batteries and bug fixes that improve reliability, including the common 10 minute recordings that happen in low power mode.

We have just released our latest bird recognition model that greatly expands the number of birds that we recognise to over 60. This uses data from DOC and eBird.

This software release for the DOC AI Cam provides more reliable modem communications and an updated model for running the AI on the camera.

Lots of software improvements: Improved bird classification, Overlay photos on by default, stopped emails working in audio only mode, tracking improvements for thermal videos, mobile UI improvements, controls to change the size of an audio track, password remembering and reset on Sidekick, 5 min audio recording button and upload notifications.

This Sidekick update includes: the camera preview stays on indefinitely, the software update works nicely, the Connect to Camera button works again and our description of the default recording window has been corrected.

We have deployed a new algorithm that limits the number of tracks in a video to 10. This is to make your tagging experience easier.

• You can now remotely set the bird monitor functionality (if your camera has an internet connection)
• Audio recordings made on devices that don't have a connection can now be downloaded to Sidekick and uploaded to the Cacophony servers.
• The release includes the ability to run the AI on the camera to control a trap or interface with an alternative communications provider. This is not fully functional yet.
