September 2025 newsletter: It's stoatally different
This month we've introduced more features for the DOC AI Cam, including Celium integration, support for more battery types and some important bug fixes. This also includes examples of kiwi and kākā calls correctly identified and bittern and bandicoot detected on the thermal camera.

Thermal camera shows possums gone from Akaroa
Thermal cameras have been used to show a dramatic decline in possums in Akaroa. New software updates released, allowing AI to run on the DOC AI Cam and improvements to Sidekick. Lifecycle testing started on new spool design for High Interaction Rate Trap

AI Available on the DOC AI Cam
The DOC AI Cam can now run the AI on the camera and has new audio settings. We're testing a low light solar panel and ramping up manufacturing.

2040 Feb 2025 Newsletter: Transparent overlay photos and audio monitoring improvements.
This newsletter describes updates to the DOC AI Cam that include the ability to add a transparent overlay photo to thermal cameras to make it easier to understand videos. There are also significant improvements to the audio monitoring along with a brief update about the high interaction rate trap development.

Audio bird monitor now available on DOC AI Cam
The audio bird monitoring functionality is now available on the DOC AI Cam, along with a new case, new seal, SIM card holder, low power mode, daily and weekly summaries, battery logging, ability to remotely change settings and a new Sidekick. There is also a new, lower cost, lighter version of our high interaction rate trap. -

Thermal cameras: research about when they are most cost effective, their accuracy and their ability to detect Dama wallabies. As well as various software improvements, including adding photos to stations, hierarchical tags and recognising penguins
Bird monitors: software updates that allow you to synchronise bird monitors and change the length of the recordings, as well as being able to upload from SD cards.
Traps - funding from 2050, progress on auto-reset, intelligent triggering, and auto kill, along with updates on trials by DOC and Predator Free Banks Peninsula. -
