Refreshed Cacophony Portal
Update: This is released now ( Feb 24, 2026: 3:00)
Tomorrow we are releasing a refreshed version of the Cacophony Portal. We will have interruptions to the service, probably later tomorrow while we switch over.
The upgrade includes
- A lot of bug fixes and usability improvements
- An improved mobile experience - particularly for viewing videos. The video no longer scrolls off the top
- A button to copy the coordinates of the current camera. This is on the devices page.
- You can also see the location of a camera on the devices page
- Daily email summaries now arrive in the morning based on your location (not the NZ morning)
- Improved on-boarding for new projects
- Recently loaded videos are now shown as queued for processing
- Background images should show more reliably
- A lot of backend improvements that will allow us to build new functionality, such a new reports and a search functionality across visits.
Our plan is to replace the old version of browse with this in a couple of weeks. We will still retain the old version for a short period of time before retiring it.
